The right kind of break
A little more
room to reset.
A short break away can mean time in a different setting, support around a change of routine, or breathing space for the people who usually support you.
We start with what will help the time feel steady: familiar people, everyday routines and clear practical planning.

Made with care
Familiar people.
A plan that feels right.
Support should feel comfortable wherever you are. Before anything is organised, we talk about the people, pace and practical details that matter to you.
People who understand the way you communicate, move through the day and like things done.
The daily details that help time away from home still feel manageable and steady.
Practical planning before anything starts, with the right people involved from the beginning.

Space to reset.
Support stays in place.
A short break away can create room to reset, build confidence and spend time with familiar people, while the practical support stays in place.
Clear, not complicated
Need help with
NDIS wording?
Short Term Accommodation, including respite, is the NDIS name for funded support and standard accommodation for a short time away from usual care arrangements. It focuses on the disability-related support you need while away from home.
Planning private travel? That is separate from Short Term Accommodation. You pay your own flights, accommodation and personal travel costs; we can talk through whether support can be arranged separately and what needs to be clear first.
Practical questions
A short break starts with a conversation.
What does NDIS Short Term Accommodation, including respite, cover?
The NDIS says Short Term Accommodation is for funded support and standard accommodation for a short time away from usual care arrangements. It focuses on the disability-related support a person needs while they are away from home.
How many days of Short Term Accommodation can the NDIS fund?
The NDIS says Short Term Accommodation is usually funded for up to 28 days each year and can be used flexibly. It depends on the person’s NDIS plan and circumstances; it is not an automatic 28-day entitlement.
Can I use NDIS funding for a holiday or travel costs?
No. The NDIS says Short Term Accommodation does not fund holiday packages, holiday accommodation, airfares, meals, entertainment or activity tickets. Those are ordinary personal costs, not Short Term Accommodation support.
Can you help with travel I organise myself?
Supported travel is separate from Short Term Accommodation. You are responsible for your own flights, accommodation and personal travel costs; we can talk through whether support can be arranged separately and the practical planning needed.
How do I talk to the Crew about a short break away?
Get in touch and tell us what support would make a difference. We can talk through the practical options, your usual routines and whether a short break away may be suitable.
