Community looks different for everyone

Your plans, your people,
your place to belong.

For some people, it is appointments, errands or a regular gym routine. For others, it is a hobby, a project, volunteering, catching up with people or trying something completely new.

For many people, it is also about having a real social life: meeting like-minded people, building social confidence, practising the skills that make new situations easier and making friends over time.

There is no one version of getting out. We start with what matters to you, then build support around real goals, independence, connection and the things that give your week purpose.

Practical, social, active

More than a place
to go.

Good community support is not filling time with a lap of the shops or a coffee because there is nowhere else to be. It is having a person alongside you who knows your pace, helps where needed and makes the plan feel possible.

That can mean getting the practical things done, but it can also mean creating more chances to be part of things with other people, building the confidence, social skills and connection that make a week feel bigger.

One-to-one, your way

Support for your goals.
Not just your calendar.

Getting fitter, trying a hobby, keeping a regular plan, meeting people or building confidence in new places can all be part of community support. It can also be a practical way to build social skills: feeling more comfortable starting a conversation, joining in and returning to the things and people you enjoy.

WEEKENDS

Happy Dayz

Happy Dayz are sponsored and free to attend, reducing the financial burden of getting out and trying something new. You use the required support funding for your day; the event itself is not another cost to get through the door.

Clear, not complicated

Need help with NDIS wording?

Assistance with social and community participation is the NDIS name for support that helps you spend more time in your community and join social activities and events. You will usually see it under your Core supports budget. You do not need to understand the wording before you talk to us. We can work through the practical side together.

Practical questions

Good questions. Clear answers.

What does NDIS Community Access funding actually cover?

The NDIS calls this Assistance with social and community participation. It can fund disability-related support to become more independent in the community and take part in interests, social activities, group activities and events when it fits your plan and goals.

Can Community Access be one-to-one, or do I have to join a group?

It can be one-to-one support built around the real places and plans that matter to you: appointments, gym, hobbies, volunteering, projects, catching up with people or trying something new. Happy Dayz and Venture Dayz are another way to get out, meet people and share a real experience with the Crew around you.

Are Happy Dayz free to attend?

Yes. Happy Dayz are sponsored and free to attend, reducing the financial burden of getting out and trying new activities. You only use the required support funding for your day, while the event itself is free to attend.

Are your events wheelchair accessible?

Most Happy Dayz and Venture Dayz events are wheelchair accessible. We consider access, transport, mobility, timing and the practical logistics around each person and event, so getting out feels more manageable and less daunting. We will always talk through the right fit for the specific event with you first.

Does the NDIS pay for activity fees, meals and tickets?

NDIS funding is for disability-related support. Ordinary personal costs, such as a meal, ticket or activity fee that everyone pays, are not automatically covered for general community plans. Happy Dayz are different: the event is sponsored and free to attend, with your required support funding used for the day.

Can the same people support me at home and out in the community?

Often that is exactly what we work toward. A familiar Crew can make it easier to keep routines going, try new things and feel comfortable saying what is working or what needs to change.
